Here is a rare old girl. A West Solent Restricted One-Design Class - or a W Class ! Built by Berthons between the Wars with fleets in Burnham and the Solent.
She is narrow, fast and wet to sail. Accomodation below is sacrificed for performance.
She appears to be in sound condition and her planking is tight. The fact she is in this condition is due to the high quality materials she was built from.
The reality is that, although she appears sound, she is in need of a new owner to fall in love with her and lavish money on her. Much of the current interior is from the 50's refit, as are the decks and these will need removing and renewing. This will allow access to the framing, stringers, deck beams and metal floor frames.
Once restored, she would make a brilliant classic racer - and she would turn heads wherever she sailed.
