Broker's Comments

The Westerly Storm is a very popular and sought-after yacht for good reason! They have great accommodation, a lovely roomy cockpit and superb performance.

As I first approached this Westerly storm along the pontoon, what first caught my eye was her beautifully shiny hull. Speaking with the owner, he informed me that during a recent lift out for annual maintenance, her hull had been professionally polished and the finished result was beautiful. Her deck and topsides are also in great condition for a vessel of this age.

The cockpit of the Westerly Storm is very impressive and one of my favourite of all the Westerly yachts of this size. Impressively deep and long and providing excellent protection and safety for the skipper and crew. The high bridge-deck of the companionway provides excellent weather protection preventing water ingress from the cockpit getting into the boat.

In my opinion, this is an excellent example of these beautifully hand-crafted vessels from the Westerly yard. She has lovely, light coloured woodwork everywhere giving a lovely, bright feel to the boat. Her upholstery also appears to be in very good condition and well looked after.

She has benefitted in recent years from a new Kemp mainsail and headsail in 2018. She also benefits from a newly installed Selden Furlex 204S furling forestay which is a very expensive and nice addition to the overall package.

Her cockpit also benefits from a tall spray hood and dodgers all of which appear in good condition which add extra comfort and protection for the skipper and crew.

Given her condition, she has obviously been much loved by her current owner who has owned her for the past ten years and is only selling her as he has decided to move up to a slightly bigger Westerly yacht.

Some of her headlining’s are in need of attention and sagging in places, but that is a very common issue with most Westerly’s of this age and can be quickly remedied.

She also benefits from a recent survey back in October 2021.
